A Whoopie Pie Christmas @ LCP December 13, 2022 Justice & Mercy visited Lancaster County Prison on December 13, 2022. We delivered to every single inmate and prison staff member a large Whoopie Pie, a Christmas card, along with a Christmas greeting by one of 30 ‘friends of Justice & Mercy’ who visited every cell throughout the prison. One side of the Justice & Mercy Christmas greeting card is the true meaning of Christmas, along with testimonies and supporters advertisements. The card also extends the invitation to speak with Justice & Mercy if there is a problem concerning the criminal justice system. As time permits, Justice & Mercy provides individual prison visits. Justice & Mercy’s aim is to provide hope to inmates and their families who may be struggling emotionally, spiritually or psychologically. In Matthew 25:36, Jesus said, “I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.” Justice & Mercy wants inmates to know that Christian people care, the Bible is the true word of God, and that Jesus can be their source for victory. With Justice & Mercy delivering Whoopie Pies along with friendly, personal greetings both inmates and staff report a change in the atmosphere the day of and several days following. As a result several inmates have sent thank you notes to Justice & Mercy telling how much of a blessing the visit, Christmas card, Whoopie Pie was. We invite you to join Justice & Mercy for our annual Christmas prison visitation followed by a Fellowship Luncheon. Our 2022 guest speakers included the following noteworthy guests: Dr. E. Daniel Martin - Psychiatrist with PrimeCare. Warden Cheryl Steberger- Lancaster County Prison David Lewis - author of the book titled “Get Free and Stay Free” Testimonies from former inmates from the featured book title John Hargreaves - Pennsylvania Prison Society, Volunteer Director Autographed copies of the book titled “Get Free and Stay Free” were available.
