CHURCHES
“I WAS HUNGRY AND YOU FED ME. I WAS THIRSTY AND YOU GAVE ME A DRINK. I WAS HOMELESS AND YOU GAVE ME A ROOM. I WAS SHIVERING AND YOU GAVE ME CLOTHES. I WAS SICK AND YOU STOPPED FOR A VISIT. I WAS IN PRISON AND YOU CAME TO VISIT ME.”
– MATTHEW 25:34-36
The church is called to do the work of offering outward mercy. Jesus calls us to possess the spiritual principles of faith and love in an act of mercy as we reach out to those who are in unfortunate situations. Such a large population that needs the love and healing of God is behind bars and eager for the compassion that the church has to offer. We offer opportunities for churches to work in conjunction with Justice & Mercy to organize teams of church members to work in and out of prison to assist those leaving county jail or state prison. There are many individuals returning to our communities who benefit from power of connection and God’s healing that a church network and support system can provide for them.
