CHURCHES
For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.” – Matthew 25: 34 - 36
As enjoy the summer season, let us reflect on the faith-based values that bind us together. Justice & Mercy invites the Church to play a vital role in the support of inmate mentoring, restoration, re-entry, and prison reform.
With the power of prayer and the Matthew 25:36 Project Justice & Mercy can sustain the mission of helping inmates realize there is a spiritual plan for their life, “I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.” – Psalm 139:14, while at the same time having a lasting impact on the communities of Pennsylvania.
The generosity and shared commitment to inmate stories that connect us have been instrumental in sustaining the mission to shape the future of prison reform, share perspectives, and amplify incarcerated voices. It is through the unwavering support of the local Church and faithful individuals that Justice & Mercy will continue to address the challenges that matter most to incarcerated people, their families and our communities.
Together, in partnership, our action brings us one step closer to creating a more accountable, informed and revived criminal justice system that best serves the citizens of Pennsylvania.
Prayerfully consider joining Justice & Mercy’s Matthew 25:36 Project – Simple in nature, but essential to the organization, The Matthew 25:36 Project relies exclusively on your tax-deductible pledge of just $25, $250, or $1,250 for 12 months. Such a small sacrifice, has the ability to make such an enormous difference in getting bills passed for prison reform, providing assistance in navigating the criminal justice system and much more.
Annual fundraising events (Easter Celebration – Chocolate Cross Day and Christmas – Whoopie Pie Day) provide holiday season inmate visits at the Lancaster County Prison* followed by and an informative forum-style luncheon for each event featuring noteworthy guest speakers.
Now is the time to partner with Justice & Mercy to shine the light of Christ with those often forgotten and castaway from society, but welcomed to His holy family through confession, repentance and salvation.
