ANGELA DIAZ Case
Angela Diaz is a Good Samaritan taking in two children from her cousin and his wife that needed assistance. Angela was a good mother to her own children. She belonged to the PTO and supported her children in all their activities. She felt the need to assist for family with their children, as well. Feeling a typical mother caring for the two little girls, Angela and her husband drove down to Georgia and picked up the girls. Angela and her husband cared for these little girls that were in need of help and love. The little girls were not well cared for by her parents.
Angela had the little girls, Brooklyn and Dallas for six weeks. The girls were then returned home to their parents in Georgia. After a period of time the parents of Brooklyn and Dallas told Angela to come pick up the girls. Angela and her husband did. The girls were not the same. Brooklyn was not acting like before, she was quiet, reserved, fearful, weak, bruised, and thin. Angela gave these girls the best care possible. She was naïve and did not call the authorities about the condition of the girls. Brooklyn health continued to decline.
On one fateful day, Angela, her children, Brooklyn, and Dallas were at a sporting event at the park. Upon returning home, Brooklyn vomited profusely. Angela observed that Brooklyn was having difficulty breathing and 911 was called. Brooklyn was transported to the hospital. Brooklyn unfortunately died a few days later.
Justice & Mercy, Inc. has taken a position that Angela Diaz is an unpretentious, gentle natured, Good Samaritan charged with 3rd degree murder. Justice & Mercy believes Angela is innocent as charged and wrongly convicted. Therefore, Justice & Mercy is helping this unfortunate family to bring to light the truth concerning this case. Angela has been in prison for over 24 months without a trial. Justice & Mercy, along with your help, is raising funds for her lawyer, forensic physicians, and private investigators.
The following is a poem written by Angela Diaz, the Christian mother incarcerated for being a good samaritan.
Body...not Mind or Soul
They have locked up my body but my mind and soul are free
They are so angry that they aren’t able to take those away from me.
They have tried with their tactics, their words, and their ways
As I continue to fight my battle and make it through these days.
I let my mind wander to the days I was home
And I didn’t always feel so alone.
I had my son and daughter, one on each side
They are my heart, my joy and my pride.
I Remember they are wanting me to stay strong
saying “mommy keep going, you been fierce for this long.”
Their voice in my head wakes me up each day
And I get even more strength as I continue to pray.
I am state property, you get to tell my body what to do
But my mind and soul will never belong to you.
You can’t have my thoughts, my feelings or my heart
And I will never allow you to tear me all apart.
I am still free with a smile on my face...
and one day I will be walking out of this place.
